What HighLevel actually costs, by client count
Starter vs Unlimited — where the monthly price jumps, and the one number that decides it.
Price checked
Prices read from HighLevel's own pricing page on 2 September 2026. Software pricing changes without notice — confirm the current number on that page before you buy.
HighLevel's cheapest plan is $97 a month. But the number that decides what you'll actually pay isn't the price — it's 3.

The three plans
Every plan includes unlimited contacts and unlimited users. What separates them is how many sub-accounts — the isolated client workspaces you'd give each client — you're allowed.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Sub-accounts (client workspaces) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $97 | $970/yr ($80.83/mo) | 3 |
| Unlimited | $297 | $2,970/yr ($247.50/mo) | Unlimited |
| Agency Pro | $497 | $4,970/yr ($414.17/mo) | Unlimited + SaaS mode (resell it as your own) |
Where the monthly price jumps
Because Starter caps at three sub-accounts, your cost doesn't rise smoothly as you add clients. It's flat — until client four forces you onto Unlimited, and it jumps $200 in a single step.
| Active clients | Plan you're forced onto | HighLevel / month | Cost per client |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Starter | $97 | $97 |
| 2 | Starter | $97 | $49 |
| 3 | Starter | $97 | $32 |
| 4 | Unlimited | $297 | $74 |
| 5 | Unlimited | $297 | $59 |
| 10 | Unlimited | $297 | $30 |
The cheapest you'll ever run HighLevel per client is when Starter is full (3 clients, $32 each) or when Unlimited is well-used (10 clients, $30 each). The worst value is the moment right after the jump: your fourth client costs you an extra $200/month by itself.
The number that matters: 3
Nothing on the page shouts it, but the three-sub-account limit on Starter is the entire pricing story for an agency. Know your trigger number before you sign up: if you're at three clients and growing, you are one signature away from tripling your CRM bill. That's not a reason to avoid HighLevel — it's a reason to budget $297 from the moment client four is realistic, rather than being surprised by it.
Monthly vs annual
HighLevel is the honest one here: its page opens on the monthly price, and annual is quoted as a plain yearly figure — $970/year for Starter, roughly two months free versus paying monthly. Many competitors default their pricing pages to the annual-equivalent number and show it as if it were the monthly rate. HighLevel doesn't. Compare monthly-to-monthly and you won't get caught out.
What the price doesn't include
The plan fee is not the whole bill. HighLevel charges separately, on usage, for telephone, SMS, email sending and premium AI features. Those rates are not published on the pricing page — it only footnotes that the charges exist — so we won't quote a number we can't source. Budget a variable line on top of the plan fee, sized to how much calling, texting and emailing you actually do, and watch it during your first month.
The real number, with hosting
HighLevel runs your CRM, funnels and automations — it does not host your clients' WordPress sites. A five-client agency that also hosts those sites is really paying HighLevel Unlimited ($297) plus managed hosting for five installs (about $115/mo on a mid-tier managed WordPress plan) — roughly $412/month all in. The $300 "agency stack" you see quoted online holds at one-to-three clients and breaks at four. Plan for the break before it happens.
The verdict
- Buy Starter if you run one to three client workspaces and want CRM, pipelines, calendars, funnels and automations in one system. At one to three clients that's $32–$97 per client, and little else bundles this much at the price.
- Move to Unlimited if you're at — or about to hit — four clients. The three-account cap forces it, so budget $297 from client four onward rather than treating it as a surprise.
- Skip HighLevel entirely if you have a single client and simple needs (a free HubSpot CRM covers that), or if all you actually want is email marketing (a dedicated email tool is cheaper and better at it). HighLevel earns its price when you're running several client accounts in one place — not before.
