How this desk makes money.
Stated plainly, because you should know it before you read a recommendation — not after.
What an affiliate link is
Some links to software products on this site are affiliate or referral links. If you click one and go on to sign up or purchase, the vendor may pay SaaS Buyer Desk a commission — sometimes one-time, sometimes recurring for as long as you remain a customer. This never increases what you pay. In most cases the price is identical to the one you'd get going direct.
Where you'll see disclosure
- On every page containing a monetized link, positioned before the link.
- In video, spoken or shown at or before the point of endorsement — not buried at the end.
- In the description or caption of every social post carrying a commercial link.
- Site-wide, in the footer of every page here.
You should never have to hunt for it, and it should never be the case that you discover a relationship after acting on a recommendation.
The rules that protect the verdict
- Commission rate never determines coverage. Products are chosen because the audience is deciding about them.
- One primary recommendation per piece. A piece may compare or name several tools — a stack breakdown usually will — but it ends pointing at one primary action, not a list of everything we're signed up to.
- Relevance is required. We only recommend products that address the problem actually being tested.
- “Buy nothing” stays on the table. If the honest answer is to keep what you have, consolidate, or use a free tool with no program attached, that's what publishes.
- A sponsor cannot buy the conclusion. Sponsored placements are labeled as such, and the verdict remains ours.
- No income guarantees, ever. Nothing here promises you a financial result.
What we don't do
- Bid on vendor trademarks in paid search, or use prohibited traffic sources.
- Self-refer, or generate our own commissions through our own links.
- Mask or redirect links in ways that violate a program's terms.
- Present a vendor's own benchmark or case study as an independent test result.
- Hide a commercial relationship anywhere.
Other relationships
Where a vendor provides free or discounted access for testing, that is stated in the review itself. Access provided by a vendor is disclosed as such and does not change the rubric — the test that was written before the product was opened is the test that runs.
